My 1998 2500 auto O. D. shifts in and out when I have the intermintent wipers on. When I have them on full speed there is no problem.

There's probably electrical "noise" (interference) when the wipers are on. The typical solution is to isolate the alternator power out (I think) to system by wrapping it with foil. Or, installing a DTT Noise filter, or other brand ATS etc. Ton of info on this site - go to search and type "OD in/out", select 2nd gen eng/trans and see what you get = a ton.

It's not uncommon for this to happen - the od thing is that it "only" happens when the wipers are on = I'm guessing there's "just enough" more electrical noise with wipers on to "break the camels back" so to speak to set the noise to a level that interferes with the OD.

Thanks Joe, I do remember reading about interference in an issue a few years back, but not having a problem then, I put it on the back burner. I'm sure your right, I'll check the site and I'm sure the problem will be solved. With Tin foil and duct tape-- there is nothing that can stop us now.
