O No

Well I just learned a lesson..... dont try to take your door pad off when its 15* outside everyone of the mounting clips on the pad broke off:mad: then the pad dropped and the clips that hold the switch broke like glass:{

Are you refering to the door panel?

Those "christmas" tree fasteners hold well, and plastic and cold don't go well unfortunately.

Good luck maybe you can find one at a bone yard/parts locator.

Yeh its teh door panel but it was the actual anchor points where the clips slide in the broke away from the panel... ... luckly 1 stayed in the bottom so I can put it back on til I find one and a little hot glue is holding the electric door lock switch in place:rolleyes:

Summer too...

I had horrible luck with mine in the summer time as well. Most all of them broke to pieces.

Then dumb dumb me got 10 replacements from the dealer for about $14 !!! Only to find the equivalent fastner in the specialty bin at the end of the nuts and bolts ailse at a local lumber store for about 15 cents each.

I should have known better... .

But my experience with them was bad enough that I made a mental note to count on replacing them every time I had the door panel off as I've come to the decision that they do NOT re-use well. They hold like heck once their on if new, but not designed for reuse... IMO

Check for an equivalent somewhere OTHER than the dealer. :mad:

I don't mind the plastic clips breaking, it is when the door panel breaks where the plastic clips where that really pisses me off.

Thats what broke on mine everyone but 1 at the bottom... where the clips slide onto the panel..... its holding for now. And to think all this cause I had a rattle in the door that was driving me up a wall..... It was the rod for the lock hitting the door...

My dad has a Nissan PU that he ordered a Jacobs ignition for. Of course it came in the day before I was to leave. Did I mention this was in AK. and 25 below. Do you now at that temp. electrical tape is useless. I had several rolls and kept them inside the house for warmth. I tried taking a roll out when needed but the glue part froze and would not stick by the time I walked to the truck. Never did get the tape to work, I ended up going to the parts store for heat shrink.

Two days later in the Yucon, 45 below without wind chill and my poor little Isuzu diesel couldn't even warm up enough for the T-stat to open. Heater blew out cold air. Only good news on that trip is that the roads were empty, Not a soul was out except me.

Oo.
