SPEEDS ON A 3500 WITH 4:10 REAR?

Well the T. C and Vb and DD's And mag Double deep are on their way. Along With the bank's Powerpack that is allready in the Rig I now hit the 85 cutoff like a . 357 whacking a defenceless coke can. Going..... Going then Phlahhh Vroooom Phlahhhh vrrroooom ... . you get the idea (technicolor and verbal sound efx work well here #ad
) anyways where or who makes the box to kill the limiter?
fun till 85... . I guess I could save the speed for the roadrace tracks, but I need to get to the track in a hurry , that's where the problem is #ad

my 99 3500 doesn't have a limiter, I never heard of it. (If it does, it's not working!!)

I've only heard of a Rev Limiter on the engine. The two trucks I've driven didn't seem to run into a Speed governer, just the rev limiter.
The '92 Dodge/Cummins 5-Speed (don't remember rear-end ratio)
Would do about 95MPH, and at that speed it was Smoking ALOT!! The "Go pedal" was smashed to the floor.
My '98 seems to go on forever, I have personallly hit 118mph on the speedometer. (Couldn't get it to do any faster 'cause it is stock) I'm waiting for the power edge COMP To come out.

Speed Limeter? i had my 01' 2500 4x4 QC up to 110 yesterday, and i sure felt like it could keep going. If there IS a speed govenor in my truck, i think its broken!
 
I seem to remember something about the Banks system disabling the speed limiter, I could be wrong but it's certainly worth calling Banks about.

Hmmm A white orange traced wire..... color me wrong but that is the pto sensor activation leed and I have to wait on any phone calls (something called ethster) #ad
everyone sees 115 MPH ... keep in mind she is a dually with 4:10's but the revs see 200 at 85 and it isn't like a rev limiter either (seen s tic above 3000 once or twice)) Hypertech or anyone make a covert mission black box of sorts? my VSS is giving me CR@p now as is and the truck is going to ... . *gulp* D/c for a shift solonoid and she can't seem to find the park location (Brake down and in nutral now in the shop) other than that the grin muscles are getting warmed up ... Gonna have no problem getting up to speed... ... OOooh a whopping 85 MPH Lookout autobahn #ad

I've personally had my '01. 5 HO up to about 110, but I have 3. 55s FWIW. When I read this heading for this thread I thought you were talking about not being able to cruise over 85. While it may be said that you should be in total control at those speeds with these kinds of trucks, sure was a bummer out on I-10 in west Texas having to keep the pedal planted manually to keep up with the flow of semis. Oh well, can't have it all.

tim , no governor on the ram , i think your trans has something to do with it , also remember that your speedo is incorrect with your new tires , what was the rpm ? also were you in OD or not ? 85mph is about it in drive .

John , The truck even did it with the stock tires before and after Exactly at 85 = major defueling then after a seccond or so back up pulling to 85. And now my shift lever won't make it to the park position Hmmmm (even if I manualy move the Tv lever ahead of the shifter from underneath) something new for D/C to look at.

P. s It looks like the 2500's make it over 100 ... . any 3500's?

my 2001 2500 4X4, auto will do 120 very easy - but then the fuel cuts out... . seems to be building very quick and strong till then - but that's to darn fast anyway... . VA BOX only...
 
Ther was a bulletin in my Banks instruction packet about disabling the speed limiter. My 2001 has no problem doing over 100. Try to contact them. (I have a 5 spd)
 
I spoke w/ the Manager of the service dept. , where I purchased my truck and he said the Cummins did not have limiters (only high-rev). So, I quess as long as you have a tank full of fuel, put it to the floor and roll-out!!!! I've had mine up to alittle over 100mph and still had plenty of pedal and power!!! Good luck!

i think the question we should ask is how fast has somone gotten their 3500 4x4 with a 4:10 rear going? i've gotten mine up to 85/90 before but not too much over that. did you purchase your DDpan from GENOS? i ordered the same pan on mon. and had it expressed shipped. still havnt seen it yet! GENOS hasn't been any help either. good luck with your trip to DC. don't let then give you any bull about your warrantee!

Ahem Any 3500 4X4's with 4:10's make it over 85/90 MPH?

This will sure kill any smiles on the thruway playin' games with psd's and DirtyCrax.
