Diesel Dynamics 12V Injectors

Muffler Install - Position?

I see a lot of Piers customers and wanted more choices for o-ringing before I send my head off. I need to get it checked for cracks and get a stud kit also. Is there a certain gasket I need to use after it’s done? Thanks for the help as usual. Gregg

If your just getting it O-Ringed, I don't know if I would spend the money to ship it all the way to Piers. TDR member Opoole (www.powerbypoole.com) is in Salisbury NC, not sure how far that is from you, but he can take care of all that for you also. Not a knock on Piers by any means, but the heads are heavy and shipping isn't cheap.

Your welcome, just trying to save you some money on shipping is all. He can take care of everything that you requested in your initial post. Good luck.

I had mine done at power by poole. . Nice work and a nice price!

Real quick turn time too! He also has studs, or did.

Give J. R. Adkins a call, he can o-ring your head and check it for crack at a good price. He also has the studs that you need and anything else you may need. Excellent guy to deal with, is number is 317-281-3130.

Thanks B

I got my turbo from JR and he is still working with me to get it right. I hope the blown head gasket is the problem with the low boost and high EGT. If I do indeed have a blown head gasket. I'm less then two hours away from Poole so he’s probably my best bet.

Just my opinion, and I've never spoken with anyone else, but Jeff Garmon is down here in GA. He can do it very well.

As far as I know he is the owner/driver/builder of the fastest 1/4 mile diesel truck anywhere (#2 alone anyways), credentials speak for themselves.

Just an option.

No that would be COMP461..... oh wait a minute you did say truck, not funny truck. LOL

I would advise taking it somewhere like Ole so you dont have to pay shipping on that brick.

Anyone looking for a shop that has done this just ask the basic questions. how many have you done, what is the process and can i see the equipment you use for it (this gives you a chance to see the inside of the shop and check it out for cleanliness and organization) and then decide. its not a hard process once you have the head prepared and cleaned. if they have to push the trash off on the floor and are using barrels and plywood for a bench maybe you should just keep looking.

I just talked to Olee and we are working on doing a few heads at one time. Thanks for the help everyone. I just want to do it right the first time.

Dropped the truck off at Power by Poole. He has a nice place with a lot of turbos to look at. It will be good to get my baby back knowing its done right.

Olee found two places where the head gasket was leaking by and found zero cracks in the head. Thank God! He did find my injector fuel tubes needed to be replaced, I guess I messed them up when I went from stock to 275s and then to DDIIIs, finally ending up with Don’s Mach 3s. The head is resurfaced and o-ringed and the block has the new studs in. He wanted to keep it a few days to do the three step torque down, which is fine by me. After all said and done he saved me about a grand. Now I can talk to JR and get the turbo straight. Thanks for the info TDR.
