Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) O ring???

I am new here. I bought a 97 12 vlave motor that was tore down for a rebuild. The previous owner had the block machined for O ring's. The problem I have is where do I get these ring's and head gasket? The machine shops I talked to said it was not done right, and the block is junk. The grove in the block is about 1/8" wide and the block states I need a 4. 500 by . 022 ring.
