How does new harness fix problem and keep water out of module? When I take the old module off it smells burned up obviously shorted out from the water. School me I'm all ears

Do you know that water is in it ?? I have never hard of one having water in it.

Thats what I assume because it acts up when it rains and the spray from the tires hits it. When I dry everything out it works. After so many times of this happening, it finally just doesn't work anymore and I have to buy a new one. The module has, what looks to be, a little black plug on the top. Maybe moisture is getting in there. I personally think water is getting past the weather pack on the plug and makes its way into the electronics. Like I said, the module on the truck right now smells like it is burned up. Could be though, water is just getting into the connector and shorting it out this way. If the unit was completely sealed, I shouldn't be able to smell burned electronics.
