Just picked up my '11 3500 from the shop today. Took it in because the check engine light came on again. They said it was the O2 sensor and that the DPF and the EGR were plugged because of it. Cost me $2000 dollars to have them cleaned and the O2 sensor replaced. Didnt make it 60 miles down the road and the light came on again. Checked the codes with my scanner when I got home and they were the exact ones I had before I took it in to the shop. This is the 3rd time in less than 6,000 miles that this has happened. Anybody have any ideas? There is no way that I got two bad sensors, something else has to be goin on.

It may be a poor connection. There is a new overlay wiring harness avIlable for the 02 sensors and module. Sounds like your dealer. Owes you a free repair. Those circuits operate in the milivolt scale so any voltage drop will give you problems also the truck has to learn new o2 sensors and may need to have the codes cleared a few times. There is a specific drive cycle to validate after any 02 repair

I will post the codes as soon as I get back to my pickup, I wrote them down but left the note in the truck. Off the top of my head I believe one of the codes was a P2025, and there were two others I don't know if it matters or not but the light came on after I had driven down the interstate for about 60 miles. I kicked the cruise off at the exit ramp and let the exhaust brake slow me down. Two seconds after the exhaust brake kicked on the light chimed on too. That wasnt the first time after picking up the truck that I had used the exhaust brake. I had used it in town running errands before heading for home.

So my memory was way off. The codes I had were a P22B5, P241A, and P2270. Third time into the shop and they finally replaced the harness. Still fighting with them about why they wouldn't even try to run the first sensors thru my warranty. I bought an extended warranty, but correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't the emissions equipment be covered under a factory warranty yet? The truck is only 4 yrs old and had just 60,000 miles on it.

Sly22, if the truck is still oem, I don't understand why this not covered by the warranty? Have you contacted Ram, or another Dealer?

Truck is still bone stock. And I am on my second dealer. Its really hard to find a competent service department around here, and even harder to find one that gives a rip about customer service!
