Why would you want to use RTV instead of the gasket? I mean, I'm sure it would be fine, but the gasket is so reliable (I think), why use anything else?

I've been using gasket maker on my rear covers amongst other things for the past ten years and never had a leak yet. It definitely works well.

As I read the site, there is no gasket with the cover. Don't know if the OE would work? Doc

I suspect that since the Oasis fits the same flange as the OEM cover, the OEM gasket will work fine. I'd give them a call and ask to be sure.

My preference is to stick with the OEM gasket (o-ring, really). Much quicker and easier than a sealant.

Thee site says use RTV, doesn't mention the OE gasket. can one use both? Think it's necessary? thanks, Doc
