Does anyone have the pin-outs for the OBD-II connector? I am looking at some software that should allow us to display and RESET DTC's. Here is the link... sounds good but until I can test it, who knows... . http://www.obd-2.com

I think this is our pin-out (ISO) but I'm not positive, can anyone confirm this?

Mick. .
I wish I could help you out on the pinouts...
I just don't have the info handy...

I could find it though. . as I have it around here somewhere.

I did buy an off the shelf OBDII scan tool. and tried it out... .

Search my old posts for "Actron" "OBD" . . ect... ect... .

What I found out was that while the connector in our trucks is OBD-II Compliant... the cummins ECM WILL not release it's codes without a special protocol...

I tried the scanner out and it found no codes at any time...

I even set one by removing the MAP sensor While the truck was running and the "check Engine" light came right on. .

When I scanned for a code. . the scanner reported none. . (all the while the "check Engine" light is staring me in the face!!

If you have gotten beyond this... PRIVATE E-MAIL ME!!!

I Want to talk to you... .

This could be a GREAT Project!!!!!!

Larry,
I sent you a note. I thought that any of the service manuals would have the OBD pin-out. Surprised no one has found it.

Kaffine,

Thanks, but we already know the OBD-II standards, just need to find out how Dodge uses it. I'm pretty sure it's like my diagram above (ISO) but I'm not positive. I ordered a 2001 service manual today, hopefully it will be in the electrical diagrams.

According to my '98 SM, the Data Link Connector\under the dash has the following pin-out:
3 - CCD BUS +
4 - Ground
5 - Ground
6 - SCI Receive
7 - SCI Transmit
11 - CCD BUS -
14 - SCI Receive (Diesel)
16 - Fused B+

The other pins have no apparent connection. Whether or not this is the OBD-II connector, I dunno.

I got this is straight out of my 1999 service manual Page 8W-80-27

"Data Link Connector. "

16--------9 (top Row)
8----------1 (bottom Row)

Cav---circut---------function

3----D1 18VT/BR-----CCD BUS(+)
4----Z2 20BK/LG-----GROUND
5----Z12 18BK/TN----GROUND
6----D20 20DG-------SCI RECIEVE
7----D21 20PK/DB----SCI TRANSMIT
11---D2 18WT/BK-----CCD BUS (-)
14---D220 20WT/VT---SCI RECIEVE (PCM,DSL)

I Hope this helps you out!!!
