OBDII Adapter - BAFX Products scan tool?

Anyone using a BAFX Products bluetooth OBDII adapter and "Torque Pro" app for an extra monitor and readout in the truck??

Looking for experience and insights.

I have one. While it does work with Torque Pro, it doesn't appear to be capable of the high speed bus in the new trucks.

Some of the gauges in Torque Pro only show data periodically on my 2012. EGT1 & coolant apparently show continuously.

For $30.00, what do you expect. Try a PLX Kiwi wifi, thats what I'm using, with a dashcommand App. It works great for me, Ill have to try it in my 2014 to see how it works with a faster BUSS in the newer trucks. I'm currently using it in my C&C.

OK, I connected it up to my 2014 CTD and it worked great. The only thing that makes it worth anything though, is the code reader. Most of the parameters are shown on the dash now with the newer trucks. The Kiwi wifi gives MPG, Boost, Trans temp, Coolant temp that the truck has the info as well, but you can see the HP output, Intake tempt (I believe the air temp after intercooler) Tq output and other miner data info that might interest some. But the code reader with the ability to erase codes is awesome, as well as showing the status of the system. I'll only use it for code reading on my 2014, but will not run my C&C without it. I'm sure some of the members here have seen my setup for my C&C, but I'll post some pics for those who are interested in the capability with the older trucks.

The first two pics are with the iMFD modules connected giving Boost, EGT, Trans temp, Diff temp, Transfer Case temp and using the Dashcommand App video output capability to my NAV radio.

The last two pics are some of what you can see with the smart phone with the Kiwi Wifi. It works for both Mac and PC based phones, but you have to order it for the phone system you use.

I have an older KIWI vintage 2011 that I am replacing.

I may buy the KIWI 2 BT (Android) and give it a try. The Android version gets higher marks that the one for Apple. The latest is smaller as compared to the older one and has a shorter cable. As you mentioned the code reader is worth the spend.

Not just reader, but eraser as well. There is a kiwi wifi III being released in Dec., so the II's are $35.00 now, but the newer version can not use the adaptor to see the iMFD modules I have.

Thanks RVTRKN and agreed.

The new super duper version III coming out in December will eliminate the cable and be a dongle hanging from the OBDII connector. The cable that Kiwi II uses is not a problem as far as I am concerned. I intend to secure it under the dash and velcro the small box to the side of the console out of the way. As you point out, it's a good time to buy. I paid about $100 for the KIWI 1 that I bought in 2011.

Interesting that the newer "Kiwi3" version drops the iMFD modules. It appear that PLX (Kiwi manufacturer) has a fairly large product line of devices that need this interface. I'm guessing they will continue to sell the Kiwi2 for that purpose.

Have you tried the Torque app in addition to the Dash Command?

Interested in update to this thread. Just bought 2016 Ram 3500 Cummins Aisin to tow 5th wheel. My first diesel. Wondering what parameters are available with something like Kiwi that I can't already see. For example are torque, exhaust gas temps available with Kiwi type devices? Thanks

That's why they came out with the Kiwi III, the multible information displayed on the dash has prompted PLX to update their OBDII reader. Most won't need the iMFD devices for the newer vehicles, as the info displayed on the OEM dash's are detailed. The Kiwi III is supposed to be faster and can read more info, to be displayed on the phone App of choice.

I only use the iMFD devices to see my critical gauges, especially now that I'm running EFILive and no longer run a stock tune.
