OBDII Fault code P0514

Anyone have experience with the following code?



P0514 Generic Battery Temperature Sensor Circuit Range/Performance



I received it once about 7 months ago, cleared it, and it did not reoccur until now.

Sounds like it's only doing it in warm weather. There are battery temp sensors that determine how much charge can be put to the batteries depending on the temperature.



The sensors can be found by following the leads going to the underside of the holders. You may have a loose connection at the plug causing the problem.

Ah, yes, the classic P0514. Don't worry about it, it's a programming bug (assuming the sensor's not bad... it probably isn't unless the code persists for a long time).

Funny you should mention this, I just checked mine after filling up, and had the same one. Can it only be cleared by an Auto X-ray type monitor or the dealer? The links I read also indicated it might go away on it's own. Thanks for the links and the info.
