This is a new one!!! My tach began to work erratically. I was told to adjust the gap between damper and sensor. I did this and seemed to be OK. Then two days later, tach again acting up and AC compressor won't stay locked in and OD switch(or lock up switch) all went south at the same time. All fuses OK, relays OK, all checks made in the driveway showed up nothing wrong. Then you go for a drive, AC starts working, tach works still erratic , and transmission won't stay locked up. You accelerate about 50-60 mph and it goes out of lockup on its own. Any Ideas? I just put in a Goerend Bros TC &VB and they worked great!. Don't see where they could be r elated to AC problems, tach problems, etc.

Terry, the one common element to all of your weird symptoms might be a bad ground connection. Did you remove any ground wires when you did the transmission mods? Unhooked the battery grounds? Possibly broke a ground wire during the job? Your problems all have the look of an intermittent ground connection somewhere. That's the easy part, the hard part is finding it. Try to think of everything you disconnected and reconnected or might have torn or bumped. There are wires all over that are connected to ground as the return line for your 12 volts. Look closely at all of them. Wish I could be more help but bad grounds are one of the harder problems to isolate. I would start at the batteries and make sure the connectors were nice and tight. Mine used to get loose on the OEM batteries but stay tight on my Optima's.
