Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) OD & TC Controller

I have a 98 4x4 12v Auto and am looking for info on the best OD and TC controller. I have first hand experience with the smart controller (DTT) on 24v trucks. I was told by a reliable source that the smart controller doesn't work as well on the 12v trucks as it does with the 24v trucks. I want something that performs as well (if not better) than the smart controller.



My trans has been rebuilt by DTT.

I think that it is not 12 vs 24 valve, but 47RH ('94 & '95) vs 47RE ('96 up). It should work the same on a '98 12 valve as a 24 valve.

We didn't get much in depth about why the smart controller doesn't work as well on the 12v vs. the 24v (both 47re trans). I was looking to see if anyone on here has drove them both or could even give me another vendor to talk to that has what i want. I absolutley love the way the smart controller performs on the 24v equipped trucks, and want the same performance on mine. I'm a bit gun shy about spending the 500 plus for something that my not work the way i would want it to, wich is why i came here!!

I had Bill K install his torque converter, redo the valve body, and install the smart controller on my '95 over 7 years ago. I've been to Alaska for a month, took a month long trip of the Southwest, and various other long distance trips over the years and haven't had one problem with any of the installed eqluipment. He also installed (at the same time as the others) the Pacbrake to work with the smart controller.

I'm a happy camper!

1 question though, have you rode in or drove a 24v truck to compare??



sounds like i'm making a big fuss over a little problem, but i just want some clarification is all!!

BTW i saw on Suncosts website they offer a lock up controller. The race version has a special 4th gear change in it and was wondering what that was for.

No, I'm sorry but haven't been in a 24valve rig to compare. Hope there isn't any difference, there shouldn't be.
