Is there any way to check if my truck has already recieved the update for the OD low power problem? I have no other CTD to compare the power to, seem ok to me, but what if I just nieve? I don't want to take it in and have "THEM" plug-in if I don't have to. If you guys back in the real world think you have some real idiots working in the dealerships there, ... . here in hawaii, ASE is only a type-o. Shade tree is good enough for DC. Anyways, sorry for getting off the topic, just stinks getting help out here sometimes. Thanks

Sorry for the lack of qualified Mechanics there in Hawaii. I am sure if you are willing to pay for the transportation and give them a place to stay that one of the qualified Mechanic members would be more than happy to come over and work on your truck. By the way have you gotten the cold start EMC upgrade TSB done for your truck yet :D I would take it in and have them scan it to check and see if the TSB was performed, they should not be able to screw that up :) By the way how is the weather in Hawaii? Its cold here in Missouri, going to get down in the teens next week

Thanks

I guess I will give in and pay them a visit. By the way, it's a chilly 82 out here now. Got the thermals out and everything:D Grass is always greener;) Thanks

TSB's

The way I understand it is they are supposed to put a label on the truck for any Eng. flashes done or ECM or PCM. Mine has a label on the top of radiator with the date and TSB # on it.

Had 2 reflashes......

No stickers and no other indicators. When I changed to a federal PCM from the Cal version I had them do that flash. It did nothing for power. What it does is not let the transmission go into OD under heavy load. IE: WOT. Now I'm not sure if thats the flash or the other PCM but it used to go in no matter what. So I would think twice about doing it for your truck.

Just my 2¢ worth,

Garrett
