If your going to do this than forget the reader... get something that will clear your codes and monitor aspects with a PC laptop.

Try www.ghg.net

Dan is a great guy and you get a whole lot more for your buck. ;)

I just bought the Alex Pepper OBD-2, and I cannot make it work. Drivers loaded okay it just says "busy signal". Maybe I missed something. I ordered the whole wazoo, so it should work. I hope it works, I like the screens.

I have an e-mail in to them, stay tuned on how I rate their tech support.

I recently purchased an OBDII reader from Mac tools. It was on sale for $389. This tool reads stored codes, live codes ie engine running, erase codes, will store codes so that they can be printed on your PC and can be updated. All vehicles,by law,are required to have the OBDII program. This was mandated by the EPA for 1996 and includes all vehicles foreign and domestic. They are also required to have the same OBD connection. This was required because of emissions. Also there is a standard used for all engine codes. There is now an OBDIII program coming out which I assume covers more data than what can be covered with the OBDII.

You can buy that type at Harbor Frieght.

harbor freight just put that on sale today for $39. 99

also, if you will by over $50. 00 they give 10% off with the email coupon.

I dont know if anyone looked at the ebay ad for that $30. 00 scanner, but it said in the description it won't work with diesel fueled vehicles. ??

I agree with the other posts. buy one that can clear codes as well as read them.

Anybody able to provide model numbers? I didn't see the harbor freight one. Is that a read/delete scanner or just a read?
