Odd reading for boost

I have a Quad comander and when I was heading up the road this morning I looked down to see 44 pounds of boost. over all across the board the numbers are about 10psi higher. Not only have I never seen it that high before but right now I have everything back to stock with no boost fooling. At idle it jumps between 0 and 9psi. Do you think it is a comander issue or could it be the factory sensor if going nutty. or what did the dealy and the cummins tech do when snooping around looking to see if I had add any goodies.
