Well, winter has officially started here. Blizzard conditions outside.

Still running the original batteries that came in the truck 09/99. This'll be the 6th winter, and I'm betting they'll make it through. If not it'll be a cold walk home in the dark. :-laf

You're getting excellent mileage outta yours!

The gradual failures don't worry me - it's the smoking and explosive ones that make ME nervous! :-laf

Im on the third set of batteries in my 95. The originals went until 2000 when the passenger side exploded. Replaced them with Mopar batteries from the dealer, then two years later they both died. Those were warrantied and prorated from the dealer. I have noticed that the truck is starting a little slower than it had, maybe they are getting ready to go again.

I've replaced two sets of batteries since I bought my truck in 08/01. Passenger battery has gone bad first both times, but no exploding or hissing. I'm currently just running one battery at the moment, haven't gotten around to getting new cables made for the 2nd since I relocated it on the frame under the front pass. corner of the bed.

My Optima Red Tops have been going and going for 7 years and two different trucks. From my previous 95 to the 02. Knock on wood :D

The original 95 batteries lasted till 97. Before I lost the starter contacts and replaced the batteries with them. ;)

So when is Summit going to have that great sale on the Red Tops again (put one in my car to try it out)? I still have the original batteries in the truck(March '00), but I don't want to push my luck. I probably use the grid heaters a bit less than the rest of you guys because I live in sunny Kalifornia. :D

Mine are from 11-01 when I got the truck they are weak. Well one is shot I just went to Sears because they have 3 year 100% warranty. I use them in my heavy equipment when they die I walk in and return them no questions ask.
