Is it OK to take the rubber line off between the OEM filter canister and cp3 to add a 3 rd filter . What kind of pressure is there....8 or 9 lbs?

Yes it is acceptable, I have one there as do many others.

8-10 psi idle is what you will see with the OEM pump.

Just buy the kit from Glacier Diesel and save yourself a lot of running around. Their kit also includes a special outlet fitting at the base of the factory filter that can be accessed with a socket.

I have done this, as well as many others, too. But if your mechanically inclined, it's easy and cheaper to do yourself. I made mine the same as Glaciers' kit for about $120. But rather than use -6 diesel rated rubber hose, I used -6 stainless steel hose braid with AN/JIC fittings and such. Just made it a cleaner look, and I hate hose clamps. Spend a few minutes to make a templete for the filter mount, with clearance for the filter height, and good to go. I used a "P-Clip" to secure my line because I hate vibrations of hoses.

More work than Glaciers' kit; yes. advantage to buy parts slowly and not hit the bank with a big purchase. Personal preference is what it comes down too.
