I have a friend with on '01 2500 who wants to know if my OEM radio/CD/cass in my '97 2500 will work/fit "properly" in his truck?

I'm not sure if it will or not, I know the interior changes in the '98 years models, but does the radio change on the underside of the dash panel? Is the harness the same? I'm wanting to upgrade to an aftermarket CD player and he wants to BUY my OEM unit! So if someone could let me know I'd appreciate it.

i plugged a radio out of a 1999 jeep cherokee into a 1991 d-250 and the radio from a 1995 2500 into the 1999 jeep if that gives you any idea about the interchangability

My Infinity radio/tape/CD unit is out of a 2000 Dakota. Plugged right in. My truck had the Infinity radio/tape system in it originally.

Should work fine as long as both are infinity / non-infinity. The radios had a different or additional plug for the infinity equipped vehicles than without.

I bought my non-infinity CD/Tape player on ebay last year and the year range in the ad was quite large and the models were well beyond just the Ram.
