I went to start the installation of my new Darin's Steering Stabilizer and I got stopped right from the get-go.

I don't have a socket big enough to get the OEN pittman shaft nut off. Does anyone know, off the top of their head, what size this nut is?

The largest socket I had was a 32mm. This was a little too small.

Here is a quote from the DSS site. I am gonna put my DSS arm on in a few days too.

Is it difficult to install ?

Not really. There is no drilling or welding required. You will need a 1 5/16 regular socket and a 1 1/4 deep socket to install the replacement sector shaft nut. A helper is nice to have to help position the sway-bar and stabilizer back up against the truck's frame. We can put one on in under 10 minutes. Most people report that it takes well under an hour.

You just MIGHT be a Redneck if...

you use a pipe wrench to remove the nut- you ain't gonna reuse it, ya know! (It worked for me!) :D

Well, I ended up taking a trip to the hardware store to get a 1 5/16" socket. I though about the pipe wrench but not know how tough it was going to be to loosen the nut, I figured I need the torgue.

The job (once I had the right tools) took about 45 minutes,
