OEM tailgate lock

It looks like the same tailgate handle was used from 2003-2009 (Mopar PN 55276237AA). Was there ever an option from the factory for a tailgate lock? I'd like to get a tailgate lock, a factory lock might be the best choice if it ever existed.

Not sure about the lock, but if you are looking for a little added theft protection for the tailgate, a band clamp around the open pivot receiver (where you lift the tailgate off the truck bed) will keep anyone from stealing your tailgate without tools. Tighten while a buddy holds the tailgate at an angle and even if a would be thief needs someone to help him or something to hold the tailgate at the same angle.
