recent posts concerning the use of off-road fuel in an on-road motor cause me to ask this question. how much off road would it take to taint a full tank of on-road, taxable fuel? we all know that on-road fuel is normally a light green to almost a mountain dew shade, and most off-road is in the range of code red mountain dew or a light red wine, "pink". will 5 gallons (or whatever) in a 35 gallon tank raise suspicion?
as much as i know, that whole rumor that there is a chemical that sets off flags with the law is hog wash. off-road, on-road, HHO, fuel oil, ect ect ect. , are EXACTLY identical, with the exception of the dye. as far as i know, the test is basically just a cotton swab on the end of a wire that will come back pink if you are being bad...
on that note, how will they know if we use UN taxed, CLEAR kerosene in cold weather to prevent gelling? heck, if i had the storage , i'd run 50/50 mix of K1 and #2 year round... to offset the prices
and for those of you who have no off-road fuel near you, you ain't missing much- it is actually more expensive than unleaded gasoline:{
