ANOTHER North East Meet ..... WOW

Well, I hate to say this but No times at the midnight drags this year. It sucks for you guys but it will make the midnights true street races again pretty much.

The track went IHRA this year. While that is better for the track owner and the bracket racers(yawn) it really sucks for us heads up guys that like to go fast in out street cars. I want a motorcycle lol, they don't apply to all the damn rules that a car does.

Clark

Thats not the case at all on the times. But is the case on some other crap at the track this year.

The midnights have been around since the early 80s. Until last year they clocks had never been on at the midnights, except at big street car shootouts a few times a year. There previousle was only 2 rules, headlights and mufflers. You could have a car with a 500cid motor with a 500 shot of nitrous and run 8s with no cage or seatbelts if you chose to. There was always LOTS of people and lots of better :D. It was always a blast but they have really gone to crap lately with low turnouts. The boards being on got rid of alot of the hardcore street racers that didn't care how fast there car was. They just wanted to go out there and bet a few hundred dollars on some match races. With the boards on there was no trash talking and betting since people knew what the others cars ran. Like I said it sucks for you guys that want to come down and drag race and get times. But its kinda cool for the locals that go out there and race.

Mark I still want to see you and Greg Line up :D

Clark

I'll probably get stomped... NOT!!!

Greg what kind of times is your current truck turning? I'd like to know what to shoot for. I can't get anyone to post ETH ETs. I'm gonna try to get a few 0-60 times and ETs off the Gtech. Even if we don't get to line up we can always find a strech of country road somewhere.

I haven't raced anything sine about '94 when I had a mustang. the pony was faster but my truck is a better machine.

I really dont know I raced a 8. 1L Chevy HD2500 Gasser this weekend from a 20MPH roll I had him by 2 cars from a Dead stop spooling 15LBS of boost in 4X4 I gated him out of the hole 3 cars and was ahead 5 cars at the end. the other 2 times he got me due to either a small jump or I was having to wait for the truck to kick down. Granted this was all on the chip so who knows how fast it is.

Greg

Matching your chip times shouldn't be difficult but If you really can break 15. 0 on LPG I'll have a hard time w/that. The truck is just too heavy to get off the line. I'll match the hp and torque but I have to admit the Autos have the advantage at the strip in the take offs.

It'll be fun any way.

I believe Greg went 14. 3 on lpg if I remember correctly. Kinda sucks we won't have times available..... I was hoping to beat my best time. People will be there with video camaras right?

14. 19 @ 97. 79MPH to be Exact Just like you Kat I dont like People getting my times or HP and torque numbers Wrong! LOL No Flames just Facts! 14. 30's Consistantly though!!! Which isnt bad just was not my goal I was striving for. to be the first to the 13's at KCIR seems someone else beat me to it! Which is all good!

Greg

19. 0's at 75MPH I think I will get beat when I get down there! But it looked cool 1320Feet of white tire and belched out black smoke! oh wait that was my first pass ever at the strip in 2wd.

who knows on this motor we will wait and see next weekend I should have some times.

Greg

Okay, we are getting closer to the set date of mass smoke production… All of those that are planning on attending please e-mail me at -- email address removed --, I need to get a count of the trucks that are planning on running on the dyno and another count of those that want to race. If you have any friends thatare notmembers o TDR that are want to attend they are more than welcome but I will need a seperate e-mail from you or them with the same info.

Here is a list of info that I need from you:

1. Planning on dynoing

2. Planning racing

3. How many people are you bringing (i. e. watchers)

4. Estimated HP

5. Wanting to stay in a hotel

Your help and cooperation is appreciated.

I figure your going to run out of gear with the B-1 on now, what were you going through the lights at with the 99+MPH, and were you ever locking the converter at high RPM's.

I'm not out of gear yet... . I have 285's on the truck. As for the converter I was not manually locking it, and not really sure if it locks up on its own under full throttle. If I adjusted my transmission some I would pick up some time (3 4 shift is way late 3400rpm or so)... . but not ready to tweak that end of it yet. I think I am ok for now... ... we'll see what happens when i get back to the track soon.
