When it Rains it POURS!

Well it happened again. This time I blew the head gasket on the passenger side. the truck ran like it has never before. it was in the 13's EASY! I'll take my shots but I am bowing out for now and I am done. This truck has ****** me off for the last time. 360 mile tow bill doesnt help much either.

What all had you done to your truck? hp level?



360 mi from home? and no cronies to lend a hand?



Sounds like you need a motor that'll take a little abuse. I bet a cummins would drop right in ;):p:D



I may have said this before but there was a Bully Dog distrubutor that got stranded in independence,ks in a hopped up Phord. Put a rod through the block. So it could be worse than a blown head gasket.



Seriously, sorry to hear about the mechanical gremlins. Come on down anyway, it's still gonna be a great time.
 
Oh I am still comming down another member of this forum might possibly be bringing a trailer to tow anyone home who breaks if he does its ON! I still cannot believe that the Moron who put the motor together didnt torque 2 of the head bolts! But back in september I put a rod through the block in Topeka KS. Nope none seemed to really want to help me a whole lot I guess they all maybe have better thing to do. The truck is still 250 Miles from Home. Just my luck! I dunno that Quad Cab 96 is looking better and better!

Where were you when it broke?



What mods are done so far? I curious, dad has one and may get the bug sometime.



250 mi each way sounds like a road trip to me. Got any friends w/a truck you can borrow? rent a car hauler for a day and go get it.



I joined Allstate motor club a few years ago. The towing portion has saved my rear a time or two. I have roadside assist on my nsurance also. between the two I don't pay for much towing.



To bad I don't live closer:rolleyes: I 'd just hate to have to get pictures towing your Phord home:-laf:-laf

Well I was in Bowling Green Kentucky. I thought I had better get it closer to home Its at a dealership in the St Louis area where I used to work at. Yeah well I have plenty of pictures of it on the tow truck :) I always do. I dunno I am gona experement with it a little I think I am gonna let the racing bug pass me this truck cost way to much money to fix when it breaks and it seems every 6 months it has a major malfunction. It felt stronger than it ever had before I am sure it was 425HP and well into the 13's at the track. oh well we shall see. Hey John Bring the trailer anyways we still might need to get somebody home! I am still gonna race and dyno but no Juice!

I dunno what to expect when I get to the track. KwikKurt is running 14. 5 with my truck minus training wheels but he's launching in 2nd. I think I can better that by a good bit by launching in third.



Kat diesel is running my setup on an auto-etc-w4. 10s and getting to the mid 13's. he also runs larger tires.



I'd do back flips for a 14. 0+/-.



Th idea of running a 3500 dually 4x4 ETH under 15. 0 is astounding anyway.
 
You guys need to ease up on the equipment LOL. Its the time of year to tear stuff up thats for sure!! My car blasted the snout off of the converter and Jon Blasted some gears out of his truck :{ last night

The truck is going to the dealer on Friday...



I'm going to need some more HP to hold Mtn Goat off, we had a pretty close race on Sat night.

Im planning on being there if I get my B-1 and DDIII's installed by then.

Ordered the B-1 last week. Kurt says about a 3 week time frame.

Should have the III's by next week. Will be in Tulsa to see the in-laws that weekend.

Hope the CON O is up to it!:p
 
My Con O holds to about 478HP. To get the HP numbers higher I tuned a bit of torque out of the truck in the low and mid range.

I think you will begin to run into holding troubles after you get it to 460 or so.

Your 24 valve truck will make more torque than my 12 with the timing bumped.

Pour the coals to her and see what happens:D
