Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Oh great another code question

Guys and Gals, the 1693 code IS or ISNT related to a dead peddle or out going LP or VP44..... I pulled the codes on his 2001. 5... ... ***1693*** :{ came up. Yes i did look at the code list to see what that meant but didnt quite understand it..... any info would be appreciated..... Jeremy

"Companion" code.



You have several computers in your truck, all capable of telling the ECM or PCM that something is not right. When the PCM or ECM meets a condition to set a code (manual trucks have PCM's too), the other computer will set a code as well, which is a 1693. So even if the original problem went away, that code remains to let teh tech know there was a code at one time.



P0216 is Pump Timing Error.
