Newbie wants more power... ..... That was my 1st. post since joining.

I G O T I T !!!!

TST #10 plate installed as per instructions with jig. TST AFC spring kit and boost elbow with Dipricol Pyro. & boost gauges. W O W !!!!!!!!!!

I cant belive it! I can hear my trans. bearings between 1700 and 2200 RPM!!!!

SMOKE... . I G O T I T !!!! I am turning the star wheel back now.

Before I did the Mods I drove on the turnpike at 50 MPH. in 5th. and nailed it... on level ground

it took 15 seconds to get to 70 MPH I did this over and over to get an average. NOW it takes 5 seconds!!!!! The tires will break loose "sometimes" in 4th at 1800-2000RPM!!! Boost goes to 38-39 PSI and EGT has been as high as 1300* then a cool down. Belive it or not milage [MPG] is UP !!!!

I am going to sell the farm, backhoe, dozer and the wifes truck and build a BOMB... ... ... Well I would like to. We had a NHRA S/G [super gas] 72 Nova this summer with a 871 blown SBC and I dont think it was as fun as this truck!!

Plate , boost elbow and AFC spring kit install took 3 Hrs. with a couple of beers and a game of ping-pong, AND the wife HELPED!

I would like to THANK everybody that has posted to help and answer my questions when choosing my upgrade parts. THANK YOU!

Richard

Yea and $500 made so much difference, now you get to the point were it $1000's you to death... ... ... oh well, I don't let it take away from anything that really matters in life.

Just wait until you add some injectors. You think you are impressed at what it will do now..... just wait. You will get the bug just like all of us. I was the same way, now look at what i have done. Next step is throwing on my 215 pump, a ported and polished head with a ported manifold also.

When I made the first #10, I labeled it a 2x because I started with a #2. It dyno'ed 345 hp with a 16 cm2 exhaust housing on the HX35, 3" exhaust with Walker 21468. It sure was easy and cheap back then to make more power. Of course, stock the 215 hp engine dynos 207 hp so it was easy to get tired of that :) With the "sea of electrons" in today's engines, it costs more but a power box isn't too hard to install. . . and gives a big gain.

have 97 215hp truck. i am stuck on wheather to go with a 11 or 10 plate. i dont want to run too hot. i tow a cargo trairler everyday and even tough its only around 4k it does slow me up a bit. thinking about a travel trailer so i want to have a plate that is good to pull heavy without much heat.

have bhaf and catback. isspro gauges. thanks in advance :)

If you worried about EGT's I would go with the #11, a #10 is a pretty hot plate in a 215 pump.

Will a 16 cm non wastegated turbo be mandatory if I put the #300 injectors in? Or will it just "compliment" these mod's? I am under the impression it will lower EGT and less smoke. I am at 38# Max. WOT boost now. Without a wastegated housing how is boost kept at a safe level? I have been bit HARD I am going on... . more mod's. Am I going in the right direction? Heck I still cant stop smiling from what I have now!

16 cm non wastegated housing

300 injectors Dont think I need larger DV's?

3000 GSK

Thanks

Kyle Exhaust and AFE stage 1 are installed {thanks for your Info. } They were installed after the other items and to me it seems to have "smoothed" out the "hit" at about 1700-2000 rpm. I ran the truck down the street and back with no box or filter first then installed the AFE and there is little or no change in "sound" of airflow and turbo so i would guess the restriction of the AFE is minimal. I know the MFG. says 24 HP gain but I couldn't tell it. Now that doesn't mean it's not there... it's just me. It is hard for me to tell 24 HP after Approx. 125HP from the other mod's. The Diamond Eye 4" kit went on very easy and everything lined up correctly, as did the AFE kit.

Does anybody know when the 7 Spd. Trans. will be invented? 3 times at WOT I have tried for another gear in my NV 4500. It needs at least 2 more! :-laf

Thanks

Richard

A #10 can be setup to mild or wild... ... ... it's the most versatile plate there is, buy a #10 and your done with plates but get 3K's with it.

Jim

I know there is the 3ks and the 4ks available. Someone tell me what is better. I plan on running a #10, 16cm non W. G. , hopefully a 4kgsk, but if I can't i'll run the 3kgsk. eventually I would like to run the 370's, but i know i'll be buying a southbend first. let me know if i'm going the right direction. Oh yeah, i also plan on installing RIP's 5inch exhaust.

Truck is a 96 3500 NV4500w/4. 10's 4X4 and totally stock except for the AFE PG7 intake and the stock plate full forward.

KEEP ON TRUCKIN'
