You guys remember the kdp fix and the guages, oil change, fuel filter change on that truck Jeremy called the "Road Warrior" last October? Well, she's in intensive care right now. I was pulling my boom lift on the perimeter of the city when a bus stopped for a railway crossing, so I stopped too to stay in the right (slow) lane. Just when I start driving again I thought the Germans were comin because I just got throttled from behind and being slippery out it was an instant jacknife that made a pretty fine mess out of the passenger side cab and door of my precious baby :( To beat all, it was another Dodge Ram, with a 360 gasser though. I would have taken a pic with my cell phone, but i was a little dazed and confused and worried because the nose of my truck was almost in the ditch and the trailer was straddling a bloody railway track. I think maybe Daniel slipped some of his luck into one of my beers down there in Indiana! I pray that insurance doesn't write the thing off but fix it, because I'm in love with her. All the memories of us together brings a tear to my eye :( I hope all you guys are doing better than me today. What the heck am I going to drive to the next TDR fixer upper/beauty pagion? Oi

I feel your Pain! My babys in the body shop right now getting the bed fixed. I got hit twice this year. Once on the left and once on the right. $4k worth of work just on the bed. Sheesh. I just wish I had the money to get the cab repainted while its there. Maybe next year... ...

I hope it works out.

Thanks man. I hope it can be fixed too, because these trucks are EXTREMELY hard to find out here (for sale anyways) and if you do find one you'll pay huge dollars for something in pretty rough shape. If i do have to get another one I'm gonna search high and low for a dually 4X4, which I don't think I'll be able to find in this country. Dam, guess I'm not the only one getting hit  Hopefully you make out alright too. Maybe somehow I could talk Philip into selling his truck ;);)

Hi Carl,

I thought perhaps you had driven too far East, off into the Atlantic. Good to hear from you. Just a few weeks ago, Bill and I was at the breakfast table thinking about you up there in the snow.

I though my truck was busted up. Just found out this week while my truck is in storage that my AC no workie... ... ... again. looks like an engine controller this time around :(

When you get another Firt Gen rig, I'd be happy to fix another dowel pin fer yah! I got Tugboat's rig this weekend. Rent you a mini van and drive on down!

Take care of that sweet rig my friend.

If the ins does total it, buy it back from them and fix it yourself, or keep driving it the way it is till you can.

The buyback is usually very low.

Look for the bright side...

Carl, I'm sorry to hear about your rig, good thing no one was hurt. Is you drive train in good shape? It sure is depressing when someone messes with the beauty of our Generation. I hope it works out with the insurance companies. These stories make me appreciate the minimal repairs my truck needs. Keep the faith, Patrick. :D

Yeah good to hear your ok Carl. Yep Scott and I were having pancakes and even though I didn't care much for the Canadian syrup you gave us, I had to put some on one of my pancakes just for you:D...

Ahh man

Carl,

Sorry to hear about that pristine First Gen of yours. :{

Glad to hear that your alright (physically, anyway). Hope that you and the insurance guys can get it worked out.

Thanx guys. Still haven't heard back from insurance yet. Been looking for first gens and they're just not out there... piles and piles of second gens but no first gens. Hopefully me and Clyde will ride again! The suggestion of buying it back is a good idea, just hopefully there's no frame damage. Sorry to hear u don't like the syrup Bill, next time I'll bring some Canadian whiskey (Crown Royal ;)) sooner or later we're bound to have a hit lol. Thanks for the offer on the KDP Scott :) No Atlantic shore for this guy lol-I'll leave that for Stompin Tom Connors.

hey carl, glad to hear you are ok. i would buy the salvage if they total it. these things can always be fixed. especially with how sweet a truck you have. mark

Just thought I'd let you guys all know after much haggling with insurance my truck is being fixed... they had my truck valued at $7100Canadian($5500-$5700 U. S. ) ... I told them if they could find any trucks in as good shape and as little mileage as mine for that price I'd take three. So I figured while she's in the autobody shop might as well do all body work and paint it at the same time. I also figured it was time to buy a digital camera ;) I'll have some pics for you guys soon and maybe I'll actually get some pics in the readers' rigs !

Carl,

You keeping the same colors?

-S

Kinda yeah, except the grey strip I'm changing to charcoal grey. I wanted to go with a different color but my autobody guy (which i know personally) talked me out of it, said it would cost quite a bit more to change colors cause it's more work to do the door jambs and stuff, and personally I don't think he really wanted to do it because he's super busy. Unless perhaps maybe you guys have some cool ideas that we could go with the white door jambs... . I was thinking an option may be to take the grey strip in the middle and move it down to the bottom or something? I don't know, my imagination isn't that good when it comes to stuff like that. Maybe a real fancy pinstripe will do me some good too... .

I'm happy as heck about it too Philip... I might have to drive out and show ya my baby after the makeover :)
