Oil Analysis What Is Boron

I just got my first oil analysis back yesterday. I used Delo 15w40 truck had 11,780 miles oil had 3000 miles Wix filter. I alreadly did a search everything looks good except the Boron count. It is at 6 ppm and what I have seen from my search were numbers from 125 to 400 ppm. Anyone know what this means.

I thought Boron was a detergent. Remember the product called Boraxo? I'm prob way off base.

Thanks for the reply's. From what I can tell from the other post is.



Boron: 6 ppm Detergent



Magnesium: 5 ppm Detergent



Molybdenum: 0 ppm Anti-wear Additive



Chevron/Delo 15w40 must not use any of these elements

Delo 400 does not use the additive boron. Rotella T does. Boron will drop to zero if you keep using Delo 400.
