Had my '97 12 valve tuned up at local professional diesel service group (44 lbs. boost) and after about 500 miles while towing a trailer it blew about a gallon of oil into the cooling system. Dodge dealer replaced oil cooler and it happened again, next replaced head gasket and and again while trailering the same thing happened. Dealer put in new short block and original head went back on. After about 750 miles regular driving (about 150 miles with trailer) engine began leaking coolant around head gasket just above the block heater. Added stop leak to get me home (about 150 miles) watched temp guage and checked coolant every 20 miles and added a total of about 1 1/2 gallons. Temp never went over 190 degrees. About the last five miles it started pushing oil out gasket as well. Boost has never exceeded 30 lbs since new short block. This truck is used but never abused. Mechanic says stock head gasket can't stand the boost which I know from this website is way off. Anyone have any ideas? Dealer says head checked out before reassembly. Should I go for a Marine head gasket this time? Help, this is becoming a nightmare!
