i. e. bleed screw for the fuel filter? priming afterwards?, etc.

thanks. scott.

Oil change is just run of the mill. The only variation among people seems to be whether they access the oil filter from the top by removing the intake tubes, or from below without removing anything.

To change fuel filters, you need a 1 1/8 socket. First drain the canister, then unscrew the top. Remove old filter, install new filter, screw down the cap. To prime the system, bump the starter but don't start the engine. The lift pump will run for 25 seconds. Do this at least twice (my tech does it 3 times to be sure). That's all there is to it.

The one Geno's carries works quite well. TDR member JHardwick makes the aluminum one they sell, which are of remarkable quality.

do most change the oil from above or below? i used to change my 12v from above with a strap wrench. from below sounds kinda messy.....

I find it very easily done from under the truck. I have a strap

wrench that i get around the filter from below. Use a gallon size

zip-lock around the filter and you should be drip free. Or wait

about 30 minutes and the oil filter adapter will siphon a little oil

back out, about 1/2' from the top of the filter. ;)
