Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Oil Blackened With Edge Box?

Whats Going On With The Fact That Engine Oil Is Quicker To Be Blackened With The Edge Box? Without The Box Generally The Oil Would Stay Naturally Clean,for Fifteen Hundred Miles Or Sothen Gradually Start To Darken. Now With My Box On 5&5 Most Of The Time I Can Generally See Discoloration In 500 Hundred Or Less And It Is Black? Any Comments Whether This Should Be Of A Concern Or An Oil Anylysis Needed? What Should I Do ?

I Need To Add That The Oil Darkens Faster After Oil And Filter Changes With The Edge Box. I Have Been Changing Oil And Filter Every 5000 Miles. 500 Miles Or Less It Is Black.

Exactly. Can't explain it any simpler than that.

I to have the Edge Comp and run it on 5X5 quite a bit, but also run it on 3x5, and I change my oil every 5,000 miles and have not had a problem.

You're putting alot of fuel very quick on 5x5. There is too much burned fuel going through the combustion cycle and alot of black smoke/soot, and the gases that go past the rings carry it into the engine oil and the soot is suspended in the oil, which is it's job. You might want to get your oil sampled, next oil change, to see if the soot levels are too high for the oil to handle.
