Ive had the truck for three years and it has 176,000 on it. My oil breather is really showing more oil blowing by since I started using the new ulsd. Has this happened to anyone else? Maybe it’s a coincidence. I did a search and found a couple threads about a bottle but the pics don't work anymore. Is mine missing something or did some years come with one and some without? Also is their something more serious that would cause this?

Interesting thread as I just drove 1100 miles this week-end and now the bottom of my truck is showing signs of oil leak. The only place I can see that it can be coming from is the breather tube. This has never happened since I owned the truck - 260K.

As far as the bottle is concerned I believe they started putting it on in 2000, mine used to have one. I got rid of it, and extended the tube down a ways so now it doesn't get all over the bottom of the truck.

I thought Id give an update. Its not the breather tube. I moved the breather tube back 3 feet in the chassis and the oil leak is still up front. I replaced the crank seal and timming cover seal but the leak reamains. Turns out the leak is comming from the seal between the vacum pump and the timming cover. It only leaks at freeway speeds. I havent had time to fix it yet.
