Anyone install an oil bypass before they switched to synthetic? Thinking this maybe a good things since i just got over the 2200 mile mark and will be getting an oil change at 3000.

By-pass filtraton is a VERY GOOD IDEA using ANY oil! When you can filter out particles less than a MICRON in size, you are doing yourself and your Engine a BIG favor!
I installed a Oilguard on mine at about 36k. Changed the oil at the same time. Took it all apart 3k miles later to change oil and inspect the bypass filter and could not believe the crud that was in the bypass. Guess it was all the junk floating around the oil system. Since then during inspections everything has been alot cleaner. All of this was with conventional 15-40 Rotella.
