Oil Capacity

Engine oil capacity is 12 quarts with filter. Dipstick shows about 1 quart low after oil and filter change. Should i stick with the recommended amount of 12 quarts or fill to dipstick full line?

I wouldn't use more then 12 qts. What year is your truck? Show your signature. If it's still under warranty, take it to the dealer because it could be a malfunction on the dipstick,

drive it a few miles then check I bet it will be over full when you check it again

Make sure you wait 15 min before you check the oil. I think you will find that extra quart.

If I check my oil before it reaches outside temp, it always reads halfway into the safe zone. I always check it in the morning after it sat all night to get an accurate reading.
