Oil Change Idea.

I have read many threads regarding oil changes and how some TDR members cannot perform this service themselves but don't exactly trust their dealer to do it either. What I would like to propose is if your a TDR member who is competent at doing this task or other basic maintenance items (fuel or air filter) and wish to help another TDR member who may be physically unable or does not have the resources to perform this task please sign up here. By doing this, it allows local TDR members to meet one another and it also helps members in need. Furthermore, certain members who may feel uncomfortable performing these basic items may choose to tackle it themselves the next time around after they've seen it done in person.

I would also help another local TDR with the oil/filter. I am new to the diesels so there is not much else I have done other than rotate tires and oil. I will be doing transmission and diffs in the near future.

Noticed you are in my back yard almost. . Looked at your gallery and it looks like you must have a tight fit bringing your Cummins in the garage? Nice looking truck.

I live in Santee, CA and would be more than willing to help with fuel, oil/ oil filter changes , foglight and running board installs etc. I have installed my Pyrometer with help from Pablo on the drilling for the thermocouple.

I would lend a hand to a disabled individual, SLC, Utah if somebody absolutely couldn't do it. You'd better have like one of those wheelchair loaders or somethin' when ya pull up! I would think that anybody who graduated high school can do it. Drain it, plug it, fill it, unscrew, and screw on the new filter?

Cleveland OH - oil change, fuel filter, diffs, gauge installs - definitely willing to help anyone local learn how to do it so they can do it for themselves. Someone helped me in a similar way few years back and it's saved me a ton of money. Good post rosco - although the idea is very similar to that of the tdr travel companion. I don't think you have to be travelling to use it.

Help wanted.

I have to say I do like this post. I am on the other end of the spectrum though, being in a wheelchair it is very hard to work on these trucks. About all I can do when changing oil is pulling the drain plug. I would appreciate the help from time to time.
