I'm with Cooker, unless Premium Blue is motor oil / dark amber colored, I assumed whatever they had laying around that month was dumped in. I would think premium blue whould be sorta blue . . maybe not?

Also agree with HC on the interval / schedule. Unless you're extreme duty 5k intervals are a good middle ground. Also agree that wait until the 12-15k range until swapping to the custom oils. Dumping a friction inhibiter in too soon will impeed proper engine break-in.

Do what's important to you . . oil IS cheep but remember the environment. 7500 miles is what most engine mfg's call for in an extended drain oil.

I was using Premium Blue non-synthetic,I switched to chevron Delco-400 15W40,I was Getting a oil smell when I was using Premium Blue,Great now since I switched chevron Delco-400 15W40 I use Fleetguard filters and change the oil & filters every 4500 miles fuel filter @ 15,000 WORKS GREAT. .
