Archived Oil Change Oops!!

i just changed my oil on my 04 , and made a possible disaster. you know how u have to remove some of the turbo intake to get to the oil filter, well when i was pulling out the filter i bumped the turbo and some oil spilled on the turbo. none got on the fins but it got below the fins, and i think some went into those little holes on the turbo. sould i be conserned? where do those holes go to? what sould i do? any input i greatly appreciated

I don't think I'd worry too much, just cleanup what you can with clean rag - just don't make it worse by introducing any debris! I've never had to remove intake hose on my '03, I use wrench on bottom fluted filters or hammer and screwdriver to chisel loose from top on top lip of filter while I'm using up my old stock of filters from the '96. Good luck

It is not necessary to remove anything except the oil filter itself when changing it. get one of Jeff Hardwick's oil filter sockets and you will kick yourself because it is so easy.

Also, almost all auto parts supply houses carry a filter removal tool from $5. 00 to $10. 00.
