Why waste your money. Just go by what Cummins says believe me they are not having you change your oil at the extreme limit
The DEF requires less egr and cooler engines wh
ich also allows for less Soot in the oil. Get an oil analysis and you will have a picture of your internal part wear and contamination levels.

Can someone help me. What's the oil change interval on my 2012?

The computer will tell you when based on your driving. A lot of towing or freeway driving it will go to 7,000-7,500 miles but mixed it will be around 5,000.

I just read this entire thread - wow, good reading and suggestions. Bumping back to top, as I'm thinking about trading my 6.4 Hemi for another CTD (gsbrockman will give me a hard time there)! Has anyone tried having their smaller handed spouse remove and replace the filter? That was my first thought, given the tight location. I'm kidding! Thanks for some good reading here.
