Oil change question

For those of you that changed the oil filter from the top, did you remove the air cleaner cover in order to remove the turbo intake or is there enough room to get the hose out without taking the cover off?

The air filter housing cover does not have to be removed, but it's a great time to inspect the air filter also.

I just changed the oil for the second time. I removed the entire hose assembly in one piece, and then removed the air cleaner top for better clearance for elbows, etc. It is not quite as easy as my 1997 was, but still not very hard at all.

I get mine from down under. Two 12 inch 3/8 extensions and a cap style wrench. Break it loose
and reach up and change it out. Of course long arms help.

You have the older style frame.....completely different from the OP's. The oil filter can no longer be accessed from the bottom of a 2013 & up RAM 3500 or a 2014 & up RAM 2500.
