It was time for some fresh oil this weekend, I removed the air intake hose from the filter box to the turbo, used the bag trick and had no problems with the removal. I filled the filter around 75% and the replacement went easy.

I then drained the oil, cleaned and reinstalled the drain plug....then added 12 quarts.

.....yea, totally forgot the extra quart or so I'd put into the new filter. D'oh. Drained it right after I checked the dipstick.

Oh well, live and learn.

I'd lose that K&N air filter. Welcome to the forum! Do a search, lots of info here on that filter.

For sure!!! For one the oil can effect your sensors and if going in for a problem and they have to clean sensors they can and probably charge you for the service.

Geno's Garage the people that own this web site have FleetGuard and Mopar filter among many other things for our trucks. Great place to buy. FleetGuard is Cummins Filtration Company. Mopar filters are just relabeled FleetGuard filters. Sometimes one or the other brand is less expensive.
