Oil change

First oil change. Had to get a filter wrench for this one, I have been spoiled by my '01 where I could just take the air intake hose off and there was enough room to reach in and remove the filter by hand from the top.

Oil was black, but from what I've read this is normal.

Anybody know what to torque the drain plug to? The drain plug is different than the one on my '01, I don't want to wrench the heck out of it and screw it up.

I believe it is 15 ft lbs.

the torque is 40 ft lbs on the oil pan plug

From the 6. 7l owner's manual... ... . "Install the drain plug and sealing washer and tighten to 37 ft-lbs. (50 N·m). "

I know on the 5. 9l we do not have a sealing washer, but a rubber coated(vulcanized) plug seal.
