The dealer closest to me is giving me the song and dance about how I should only have oil changes on my 03 done at the dealer to ensure warranty continuity. Now, I always changed my own oil on my 95, but I sure don't want to go nose-to-nose with Chrysler if I ever have an engine warranty call.

Anybody have any experience with this?

Kodiak:

It makes no difference who does your oil changes, so you can continue to do them yourself if you wish. Just make sure that you can document the date, mileage and products used by saving your receipts. Most do-it-yourselfers keep a log bok of maintenance performed which D/C finds perfectly acceptable.

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

msimmons,

Thanks for the reply.

The logbook is a great idea! It demonstrates a certain conscientiousness that should be unarguable. I've always kept the oil and filter receipts, but a logbook carries carries a kind of authority. Now... where did I put that filter wrench... ?:D

Pirate4x4,

Were your changes done at the dealer or elsewhere?
