Do'es anybody Know of an Oil cooler that fits the 24v? I'm looking for the type that sandwiches the adapter between the filter and

Housing. I have a temp. gauge (eletric. ) mounted in the housing next to the turbo oil feed line. on a 90 deg. day, no load 70 mph.

runs about 210 deg. Cools down to about 180/190 in city driving. i'm gonna be getting a 5er here soon and wanna protect the motor as much as poss. . also it picked up about 20 deg. of temp going from fact. oil to Rottella. Seem Odd? also want to mt. the cooler back under truck away from air charge cooler and rad.

Will use cooler w/ fan mt'd to it for air flow. Any sugg. ?

Thanks , Proram

There is already an Oil to water cooler in your radiator. What i would recomend doing is running a line from the outlet of the radiator oil cooler to your air to oil cooler and then re-connect it to the stock line back to the engine. This way, with any problem, you can go back to stock quickly and be back on the road.

:) Food for thought. I was thinking about this same setup awhile back. One point that was brought out and has already been stated above is the fact that you already have a oil to water heat exchanger built in. ;) With this in mind, what was pointed out to me was the fact that by running the oil (in my case it's 10 deg above the water temp) at normal engine operating temps, you drive out the fuel blow-by from the engine and also vaporize any moisture (water content) that may have collected. So this unwanted fuel and water vapor gets dumped over the side via the breather. ;) The highest I have ever seen my oil go is to 210 deg and that was running at 75/85 mph through eastern Oregon with the outside temp running 103 and a car trailer in tow with a Oldsmobile on it. :D Cummins Factory Rep told me that these engines are designed to run in 120 deg heat at continuous duty. I run full synthetic 15w/40 amsoil wich handles the heat just fine. :D Food for thought. :D
