What's the torque spec for the drain plug?

i think 23lbs'ish is stamped on the drain plug... i always just go hand tight with the 3/8" ratchet...

Seems like I heard that the published torque (37 ft-lbs) is way too high and can cause damage. Most just snug it up.

YEP,,, just snug it up... Do not over tighten, and check it periodically to make you feel better! Oo.

Well, my calibrated wrist was prolly good enough. I have a similar plug on my Vette and it's only 18 lb/ft.

Geno's catalog 49 page11 states 40#s andy at Geno's told me 30#s was the correct torque
