I know cummins don't leak any oil. But I got this problem with an oil drip. It's coming from between the engine and the transmission. At first I thought it was the breather hose on the drivers side, but it's not. I tried to tighten up the oil pan bolts but they weren't loose at all. I took the inspection cover off the bellhousing and noticed some engine oil on the inside, but the ring was not oily and very clean. I just don't know where this oil is coming from and it bothers me to see some stains where I park all the time. Any suggestions.

Had a rear seel put in mine and it stoop the leek. It runs down the block into the inspection pan. It is a round seal that goes on the crank behind the fly wheel. Do not have to pull the pan but do have to pull trany and fly wheel. Hope this helps.

Harlan, how bad was yours leaking and how much did it cost, if you had it done? Mine leaks like crazy, the underbody should never rust. .

Dont know the price but Dodge only had it for about 4 hr. It was still under worrenty.
I had about 80,000 miles.
When I got the truck I also payed for 100,000 mile drive train worrenty, and it was wouth it. Two tranys and the oil seal.

Hey trout... I dont know about that "cummins don't leak any oil" deal... Mine leaks out the SAME place. . it's the rear main seal, those guys are right. I haven't done mine yet, too many friggin projects going on right now, but I'll get it done soon enough! It leaks like an old lady in church. I'll wait and rebuild the front end at the same time. CLUNK DRIP CLUNK DRIP CLUNK DRIP CLUNK DRIP...

Ohhh. . not complainin... I love my CTD

I thought it probably was the rear main seal. But thought it might just be something of a smaller problem. Thanks a lot
