Has anyone come across this for the 6.7 Cummins concerned as just purchased the truck a few weeks ago from a dealership.

WOW, now I've got to go out and check mine, I have no clue. I would suspect an additive was introduced into the oil, but why. Dealers are not always reputable and the ones that you know are safe may not be as perfect as they seem. The pics are of my Air Filter, (sorry one darker than the other) and I found it because I was installing my EGT probe and when I removed the plastic wheel-well cover a clip fell onto the ground. It turned out, that it belonged to my air filter box. It was cracked open enough for unfiltered air to enter and when I saw the filter, I was on the phone to my Dealer who took care of my services for most of its life. Apparently it was over looked for quite some time, when I showed the filter to the manager he profusely apologized and gave me assurances that it wouldn't happen again. My point is that even when you trust them, do visual checks to minor maintenance service. You can bet I look at it now on a regular basis. Keep in mind I trusted the Dealership with two of my CTD.

Completely standard no modification but who can say that the previous owner did do the deletes kept the parts come trade in time put the parts back on trade for a newer truck with dealership.

One of the drawbacks on the 6.7 you have to watch for, bown head gasket. Definitely take that back and show them the issue. You do not want to be stuck fixing that on your own dime if it is a HG.

Don't let the dealer just replace the gasket without you seeing that the cylinder walls and pistons aren't eroded or scored. Water and antifreeze are corrosive under conditions inside the cylinders. Injectors could be shot etc. Just a few weeks ago, huh. Tell them to take it back and sell you a new 2013 at 10K under list.

It would be useful to know Bert's location; If he's in Florida, he has a problem. If he's in Montana at 10 below zero, that may not be abnormal for short-run driving. How much blow-by does the engine have? Has the PCV system been serviced, or is it clogged not allowing the crankcase to breathe?

It is true that there may be more condensation under some conditions. However, he is more likely to get somewhere with the dealer if he acts immediately. Otherwise they will assume he caused the problem.

This condensation is not normal under even the worst of conditions. It is possible that your exhaust gas cooler has a crack in it. Keep tabs on your coolant level to try to track where this moisture is coming from.

I have to respectfully disagree. I have yet to see a blown head gasket on a 6.7. However there are plenty of mis-diagnosed EGR coolers that ended up with the head pulled before they figured it out.

Once I seen that on the cap, I'd send in an oil sample and do a full oil / filter change and wait for the results. Also notify the dealer of what is happening. A good sample can tell you a lot about foul parts and the products to consider.

GrizzlyBert, take the truck to the dealer, and have them check it out. They should take sag2's advice seriously, he knows what he is talking about. If the dealer resists, have them talk to their Chrysler Regional Tech Advisor.

If the vehicle has had LOTS of short trips where it fails to reach operating temp it could be normal, I know on my wifes 4.0 V6 it was common to see that very thing.

What are the miles and engine hours?

I would document it with the dealer, clean it and go from there. If nothing comes of it then no big deal.
