I have a case of Mopar Oil Filters, PN 04429615 They have a date on the box of 12/97. I purchased them for my 1998 12 Valve Cummins.

Will they work on my 2004. 5 HO 325/600 Cummins? I understand the fit is the same but the newer filters have the wrench slots.

Will the filters I have provide the protection for the oil?

I searched the forum but no answer found.

Thanks Bill

Most likely they'll be fine. You'll just have to use a strap wrench to install/remove. You may have to pull the intake air tube to get the strap wrench on, but what the heck. When you use these up, go to Cummins and buy a case of stratopore filters. :)

I thought the new filters handled more PSI? as well as the wrench indents.

From what I have been told the new filters good on any truck; old filters that generation or earlier
