I thought the P700 pump took upward of two hours to drain? I pull in after midnight coming off second shift, throw the pan under and flip the drain valve. Come morning, it's all ready to pull the filter. By the way, I lay the new filter on the seat so I don't do something real stupid.Originally posted by RON'S RAM
I just drain the oil from the pan, then check out every thing on the underside of the truck, go have a soda or something for around 20 minutes to 1/2 hr. The oil will siphon out of the filter if you wait that long, and then there's no mess. I have always tightened my filters by hand, and never had a problem. Many many filters. I like the idea of lettin the wife do it though and bangin on the oil pan when she's finished.
I have to give my filter a pretty good twist else it tends to be loose when I do the change.
