Hey gang, i have a 99 2500 diesel 4x4 auto. I'm thinking about trying this new GULF COAST FILTER unit. i read where you inset a roll of paper towels in this thing and you get unbeleveable mileage out of the oil. Is this thing on the level? Does anyof the tdr members out there have these installed? If so i'd like to hear some reports on this device thanks RADAR DOCTOR

I wouldn't use one on the Cummins because of the start up spikes and steady high pressure. Remember, these engines kill Fram filters. I think the safe bet is to stay with Fleetguard and go to a reputable bypass system if you want to go down this road.

There are lots of members using these filters with good results. I purchased mine from Barry as have many others. I think he still has a pretty good selection at great prices. Barry is in Granbury, Tx and you can do a search on that name and get his contact info.

Sounds like a nice device,

but will this company buy you a new ISB when

the paper cloggs a piston cooling nozzle (read catastropic failure)?

I would stay away from one of these, besides fleetguards are like 7 bucks a pop.

Happy Dieseling!

The openings of the screen in the filter are much smaller than the opening of the cooling nozzle. If it gets through the screen, it will go through the nozzle.
