I should not have set on one

Guys, what is the name for the type of fitting used on the oil supply and return on our truck turbos? It's usually a male fitting with a rounded nipple, kind of similar to hydraulic fittings.

Thanks,

Nick

the "slightly rounded" end is AN fitting style. they can be 37 or 45 deg flare. I'm not sure what thread is in the turbo center section.

These are the #'s that were for my '97. Don't know it's called a female fitting on the invoice, it's not.

Cummins P/N-

3919687 Connector, female

3037236 Seal, o-ring

The fitting is about $6-7.

Unless the later ones are different, the drain on my truck just took a gasket.

Gasket P/N is (unless the # has been supercceded) 3914388

Sorry, I should have clarified! I am looking for these for my jet engine, which is an HT3B, so yes, it uses these fittings in a stock OTR truck application, but not pickup! The ones on my truck are, fortunately, doing just fine!

Thanks everyone

The oil supply is a -6 to a boss oring fitting (that what most people use for a HT3B). I am not sure on the size of the boss oring.

The stocker (HX35) use boss oring fittings on the top of the cartridge and the filter housing.

The fitting used on the 12v'ers are JIC/AN type fitting the fittings on the 24v's are a boss oring type.

The fittings on the turbo oil feed line on a 24v are not O-ring boss, they are "Face seal" also known as ORS or O-ring swivel. On O-ring boss the o-ring is on the outside of the threads against the hex, face seal has a groove cut in the face for the o-ring.

Looking in my Grainger catalog I do not see face seal but I do see male NPT AN style and JIC/SAE style female.

There are also NPT x JIC styles and O-Ring/JIC.

Expensive too! I am debating whether I should soft-line it with hydraulic hose or hard-line it with copper... .
